About the Role
Lead CPRE’s people strategy, shape an inclusive culture, and support managers across the organisation. This is a great opportunity for an experienced HR professional to make a real impact. Reporting to the Director of Finance & People, you will provide strategic HR leadership while ensuring high quality day-to-day support for colleagues, managers, and the Senior Leadership Team. This varied and influential role involves taking ownership of the People Strategy, reviewing and improving systems and processes, and overseeing all aspects of the employee life cycle, from recruitment and onboarding to learning, development, and performance.
Working closely with line managers, you will coach and support them to embed consistent, fair, and values-led people practices. You will also lead on employee engagement, manage the relationship with the recognised trade union, and produce clear HR and Health & Safety metrics that inform organisational decision making.
A key part of the role is supporting the implementation of the Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) Framework and Action Plan. You will help build a welcoming culture for people from all backgrounds, ensuring recruitment, development, and engagement practices actively support diversity and inclusion in practical, meaningful ways.
If you are motivated by improving people systems, supporting colleagues, and helping shape an organisation’s culture, this role offers the opportunity to make a real and lasting impact. CPRE is committed to developing an inclusive and diverse workforce where everyone feels supported, valued, and able to be themselves at work, recognising that diversity and inclusion are essential to achieving our vision of a thriving, beautiful countryside for everyone.
