Introduction
You will be working in the Select Committee Team (SCT), supporting the work of the House of Commons Select Committees. Select Committees are cross-party Committees of MPs who examine government policy and spending.
This post is part of SCT Communications a team of communications, digital and engagement professionals that provides a dedicated service to approximately 30 Select Committees.
The Role
As a member of the Digital and Publishing Leadership Team, no two days will be the same. You will oversee a team of colleagues including a Communications and Production Planner and a team of Content Producers. Together you will be responsible for designing and publishing all select committee reports (HTML and PDF), around 400 annually. You will also work across SCT Communications to manage the publication calendar and production pipeline, ensuring colleagues across SCT are sighted on the upcoming reports and any scheduling conflicts.
Some of the responsibilities for this role include:
Day-to-day line management of a team including a Performance Analyst, Communications and Production Planner and Content Producers.
Managing the production pipeline of publications, allocating and distributing resources effectively to ensure high-quality and visually engaging reports are published to meet competing and tight deadlines.
Proactively identifying solutions to improve planning and publication processes, setting and driving standards across SCT and making improvements to workflows.
Skills and Experience
To be successful in this role you will demonstrate:
Excellent strategic planning and organisational skills with an ability to prioritise to meet short and changing deadlines across multiple workstreams, ensuring delivery of your own work and your team's.
Proven experience in using data, insights and audience research to inform, optimise and measure the success of multi-platform marketing and communications campaigns and activity, with an advanced understanding of current research and data collection options and tools.
Highly proficient in monitoring, interpreting and reporting on data, performance analytics and digital content trends, including using visual data representation tools to advise and influence outcomes.
