About the Role
As a Podiatrist, you will be responsible for the assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation of podiatric care for a diverse patient group including adults and children. Clinical needs will cover high risk diabetes, neuropathy, HIV, chronic diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, vascular disease, terminal illness, mental health conditions, and specialist wound management and tissue viability assessment. You will provide reassurance, education and negotiate complex treatment options, addressing potential denial of pathology or treatment compliance issues while overcoming communication barriers. You will interpret clinical findings and make decisions regarding onward referrals to other disciplines or specialist departmental areas, ensuring clear communication with all relevant parties.
Experience
Experience in podiatric assessment and treatment across a wide range of clinical conditions is essential. Experience working with complex patient groups including those with chronic diseases and mental health issues is highly desirable.
About you
You will be compassionate, patient-focused and able to communicate effectively with patients who may have complex needs or barriers to understanding. You should be confident in negotiating treatment plans and able to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Qualifications
You must hold a recognised qualification in Podiatry and be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
