About the Role
Greenwich has ambition — and we're looking for 3 Policy Officers to join our Policy Team and help drive the policy work behind it. You'll lead projects end to end, from scoping and evidence-gathering through to outputs ready for Cabinet. You'll become the expert on the areas you cover, work directly with Cabinet members and senior officers, and lead the Council's response to consultations and new legislation. You will bring a strong grasp of local government, experience of leading evidence-based policy reviews, excellent writing skills for senior audiences, and the political judgement to handle sensitive issues with composure — all with the confidence to work independently. In return, you'll shape decisions that improve the lives of Greenwich residents.

Experience
Proven experience in local government policy development and leading evidence-based policy reviews. Demonstrated ability to manage projects from inception to delivery and produce high-quality outputs for senior audiences.

Confident and independent worker with strong political judgement and the ability to handle sensitive issues with composure. Excellent written communication skills tailored to senior stakeholders. Qualifications
Relevant qualifications or equivalent experience in public policy, local government, or related fields are desirable.
