About the Role
Amazon is seeking an experienced, driven, and creative PR Manager to lead the retail communications function in the UK. You will be responsible for delivering integrated PR campaigns for major shopping events such as Prime Day and Black Friday, showcasing the value customers receive when shopping with Amazon. As a key member of the UK Communications team, reporting to the Head of Consumer Communications, you will manage consumer campaigns across earned media, social media, and influencer relations. This role requires a deep understanding of the UK media landscape, excellent writing skills, and a passion for creating meaningful work. You will collaborate closely with internal teams and external stakeholders including media, influencers, creators, and agency partners. The role suits someone who thrives in a fast-paced, start-up culture and has extensive experience in agency or in-house communications roles.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage integrated PR campaigns around key retail moments
- Deliver campaigns and launches for shopping innovations
- Write campaign plans, messaging, and media-facing materials
- Build and maintain relationships with key media, pitching and securing top-tier coverage
- Provide counsel to internal executives on PR challenges and opportunities
- Collaborate with agencies and international teams to implement PR activity
- Work cross-functionally to deliver projects on deadline
- Manage complex PR challenges from both business and media perspectives
- Support issues management related to the UK retail business
Experience
- Proven experience in professional communications or public relations
- Track record of developing successful marketing or communications campaigns
- Experience measuring and reporting on PR program effectiveness
- Extensive experience in agency and/or in-house roles preferred
