About the Role
The primary role of the Practice Administrator is to manage requests made to the practice for Medical Reports and SARS requests. Additionally, the post holder will provide urgent cover for the registration administrator as directed by the Assistant Practice Manager. This role requires excellent understanding of Access to Medical Records and Data Protection, alongside strong IT skills. Experience with IGPR software is desirable but not essential. The post holder will be responsible for managing and processing requests within specific time frames, maintaining accurate records, and liaising with patients, clinicians, insurance companies, and outside agencies. Duties include ordering supplies, managing software and data, redacting records, and responding to tasks from reception and clinical teams. The role demands flexibility to take on additional or redistributed duties to ensure efficient practice operations. The post holder will also participate in practice meetings, training sessions, and complete mandatory modules. Confidentiality, health and safety, equality and diversity, personal development, quality assurance, effective communication, and contribution to service implementation are key responsibilities embedded in this role.

Requirements

Experience
Previous experience working within the NHS is desirable. Experience with EMIS, Docman, Accurx, and IGPR software is advantageous but not essential. Excellent IT skills including Excel and Word are required.

About you
Excellent knowledge of Data Protection and Access to Medical Records. Strong time management and organisational skills. Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team. Excellent customer service skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Aptitude to learn new software and processes. Knowledge of NHS registration processes is desirable.

Qualifications
No formal qualifications specified; however, participation in training programmes and personal/professional development is expected. The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974; all spent and unspent convictions must be disclosed. A satisfactory DBS disclosure will be required if offered the post.
