With ongoing business growth, we are expanding our Technical team and have a new opportunity for a Principal Civil Engineer to develop and deliver a wide range of clean technologies and renewable projects. The successful candidate will support technical aspects and project development deliverables for customers in both public and private sectors. This includes producing engineering deliverables, undertaking feasibility studies and detailed design, and completing on-site reviews.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as main point of contact for Civil Engineering inputs across the company, specifically on large scale electrical projects (BESS, Solar PV, ASHP, Industrial Boilers)
- Produce drawings and schematics to applicable industry standards
- Demonstrate working knowledge of industry standards
- Manage sub-contractors or self-deliver detailed design covering geotechnical and structural elements
- Review designs and provide technical support during construction and commissioning
- Produce outline engineering work packages and scope of work documents for contractor pricing
- Provide engineering support to the AMRC Delivery Team during construction and manage engineering changes per company procedures
- Review and identify project and constructability risks focusing on technical/design aspects
- Liaise with client stakeholders and attend regular client project meetings, including in person
- Prepare technical reports, presentations, and all project supporting documentation including specifications, tender assessments, and risk assessments
- Use CAD software to aid production of drawings
- Perform additional duties as specified by line manager or director
Experience
- Proven lead development skills including building project scopes and assessing constructability of design
- Experience with Substation, BESS, and Industrial buildings is desirable
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and related design software is desirable

Qualifications
- Engineering degree or equivalent in Civil or Structural Engineering
- Achieved or working towards Chartered Engineer status
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and project scheduling tools
