Principal Consultant - Infrastructure Transactions

Location
London, with opportunities to work across UK offices in Leeds and Manchester, and collaboration with international colleagues.
Hours
Full Time - 40 hours per week. Employees are encouraged to spend approximately 40% of their time in office or on-site with clients. Part-time arrangements may be considered.
Salary

About the Role
Steer is seeking an experienced, motivated, self-starting, problem-solving, and collaborative professional to join as Principal Consultant in Infrastructure Transactions within the Infrastructure and Asset Advisory team. This role supports Steer’s world-leading transactions advisory services, contributing to winning and delivering commissions from a diverse international client base including investors, lenders, grantors, operating companies, and project developers in the transport sector.
The successful candidate will help build a vibrant pipeline of work through active client relationship management, sell services across Steer leveraging specialist reputation, support client engagement and proposal development, and manage projects ensuring best practice and integration with wider Steer teams. The role involves working on projects related to Demand and Revenue, Commercial Due Diligence, and Technical Due Diligence, while helping to diversify Steer's offerings to align with company growth strategy.

Experience
- Proven ability to deliver projects as Project Manager in Demand and Revenue and Commercial Due Diligence supporting transactions in at least two of the following sectors: Roads/Highways, Ports/Maritime, European Rail/Rolling Stock, Urban Transit (light rail/tram), Bus, EV.
- Experience in non-transport sectors such as Energy, Data, or Social is a bonus but not essential.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple large consulting projects effectively and in parallel.
- Demonstrated track record of delivering timely, profitable, and high-quality projects.
- Proven experience in developing effective working relationships with clients and potential clients.
- Strong analytical aptitude and excellent Excel skills.
