About the Role
We are seeking a Principal HR Business Partner to lead the people strategy for Amazon's International Tax and International Communications & Corporate Responsibility (CCR) organizations. These are two highly complex, globally dispersed functions operating at the intersection of regulatory, reputational, and cultural priorities. Reporting to the International G&A HR Leader, you will partner directly with executive leaders across EMEA, APAC, and the Americas to drive organizational design, executive development, and HR excellence at scale.
This strategic role is critical in building and executing people initiatives across the International (Non-US) organization, including improving organizational effectiveness and design, leading change management, providing leadership coaching, and driving HR functional excellence. You will interact effectively with business leaders at all levels, possess excellent communication skills, strong business acumen, and work collaboratively across multiple geographies in partnership with regional HR leaders.
Key responsibilities include partnering with senior leaders (VPs and Directors) and their leadership teams to develop and execute HR strategies that foster organizational and people effectiveness. You will serve as a liaison between the business and central corporate HR teams to assess human resources needs in areas such as performance management, employee relations, compensation, career development, and leadership development. The role requires diagnosing problems and driving appropriate solutions, leveraging data to establish HR priorities and mechanisms to drive change.
The role also involves travel across EU, APAC, and the US as appropriate. A strong focus is placed on the adoption of AI tools and resources to enhance HR effectiveness, including generative AI, HR analytics platforms, and automation to streamline people processes, improve data-driven decision-making, and scale HR impact across a distributed workforce. You will proactively identify opportunities to embed AI tools into HR processes and workflows and coach peers and business partners on practical applications to build AI fluency across the HR community.
A day in the life
You will partner with various senior leaders and their teams to develop and execute HR strategies and planning activities that foster organizational and people effectiveness.
