About the Role
The Amazon Web Services Professional Services (ProServe) team is seeking an experienced Principal ProServe Cloud Architect (PCA) to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with customers to understand their technical requirements and business objectives, designing and implementing tailored cloud solutions. You will be a key player in the sales process, providing technical expertise and guidance throughout the customer's cloud journey.
As a PCA, you will create and lead solution designs that address customer business outcomes (CBO). Acting as the conduit between ProServe Account Executives and Delivery Teams, you will ensure proposed solutions are realistic, achievable, and optimize ProServe and partner resources to maximize CBOs. You will serve as a trusted advisor to customers, offering guidance on industry trends, emerging technologies, and innovative solutions to address their challenges.
Additionally, you will share knowledge within the organization through mentoring, training, creation of reusable artifacts, and process improvements. Your expertise in designing complex, scalable, and secure cloud solutions will enable you to translate technical concepts into business value, impacting the signing of Statements of Work (SOWs) and the successful implementation of solutions that exceed customer satisfaction expectations.
The AWS Professional Services organization is a global team of experts helping customers realize their desired business outcomes using the AWS Cloud. We collaborate with customer teams and the AWS Partner Network (APN) to execute enterprise cloud computing initiatives and provide focused guidance through global specialty practices covering a variety of solutions, technologies, and industries.
Key Responsibilities
- Design complex, scalable, and secure AWS solutions, estimates, and proposals to deliver customer business outcomes
- Provide technical guidance and best practices during sales and implementation phases
- Collaborate with Account Executives and Delivery Teams to ensure solutions are realistic and achievable
- Act as a trusted advisor on industry trends and emerging technologies
- Share knowledge through mentoring, training, and creating reusable artifacts
Experience
- Managing and delivering large-scale enterprise IT projects
- IT compliance and risk management requirements (e.g. security, privacy, SOX, HIPAA)
- Software development life cycle (SDLC) and agile/iterative methodologies
- 10+ years of cloud architecture and solution implementation experience

Qualifications
- Knowledge of compliance and security standards across enterprise IT landscapes

- Familiarity with enterprise architecture frameworks such as TOGAF or Zachman
- Experience with enterprise systems including SAP, Oracle, and custom applications
