About the Role
At JPMorgan Chase, we are transforming digital banking through Chase UK, delivering intuitive and seamless customer journeys. As a Principal Software Engineer within the International Consumer Bank, you will play a pivotal role in building the bank of the future from the ground up. You will work in a collaborative, diverse, inclusive, and geographically distributed team, focused on creating outstanding banking experiences for millions of customers.

You will design and develop complex, scalable, and secure software frameworks and production code, while reviewing and debugging code from others. A key responsibility includes architecting and governing agentic AI-enabled engineering workflows using enterprise-authorized tools to accelerate delivery speed, improve code quality, and enhance operational outcomes at scale. This includes AI-driven PR review assistance, test generation and maintenance, release readiness checks, and incident triage.

You will apply your expertise in the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain and AI-assisted development to maximize automation value. As a subject matter expert, you will contribute to technical methods aligned with the latest product development methodologies and create reusable software frameworks leveraged across teams.

In this role, you will influence senior leaders across business, product, and technology teams, lead the design and delivery of consumer-facing financial product features with high availability and resilience, and partner with Product, Design, and Compliance teams to ensure regulatory standards are met without compromising user experience.

You will also drive engineering best practices for rapid and safe iteration on consumer products, including feature flagging, A/B testing frameworks, and progressive rollout strategies.

Experience
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts with advanced applied experience
- Hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
- Expert proficiency in one or more programming languages
- Demonstrated experience designing and leading adoption of agentic AI-enabled development practices using enterprise-authorized tools
- Strong understanding of responsible AI use, including security, resiliency, data sensitivity, and risk-based governance
- Practical cloud-native experience
- Proven track record launching and scaling consumer-facing financial products such as lending, core banking, deposit products, or investment platforms in regulated environments
- Experience owning end-to-end delivery of high-traffic, customer-facing systems focusing on reliability, performance, and security
- Ability to navigate the intersection of consumer product velocity and financial services compliance, including fraud prevention, data privacy, and auditability requirements
