About the Role
Help us invent new features in Amazon's AI shopping assistant that push beyond the bounds of what Alexa can do today, solving real customer problems in innovative ways that were not possible a few years ago. To thrive in this role, you must have an inventor's spirit and a strong understanding of interaction design, combined with a passion for technology and innovation. You will work fast, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and quickly translate customer needs into delightful solutions. You will present ideas professionally through a strategic and creative lens and be comfortable working with ambiguity while managing stakeholder inputs, functional requirements, and timelines. You will collaborate closely with conversation designers, UX designers, researchers, product management, engineering, science, and operational teams to take early-stage product concepts through to launch of new features and experiences.

Key responsibilities include:
- Creating world-class, user-centered designs informed by UX research, market research, behavioral data, and internal stakeholder feedback
- Collaborating with Science and Editorial teams to help train the LLM to generate content aligned with design intentions
- Demonstrating leadership in driving design processes that refine organizational strategy
- Translating business requirements into use cases and high-level customer experience requirements
- Designing interfaces and interaction flows for new features using Figma, prototyping tools, and AI tooling for rapid idea generation
- Developing and maintaining detailed design specifications
- Presenting design work to user experience, product, engineering teams, Amazon leadership, and external partners for review and feedback
- Developing high-level customer strategies for both near and long term

Experience
- 10+ years of design experience
- Proven experience with best practices in User Interface Design, Information Architecture, and Interaction Design
- Experience managing design projects from strategy through execution
- An available online portfolio demonstrating your work
