About the Role
The European Middle Market Private Debt team provides mid-market companies with senior and unitranche financing for acquisitions, capital growth, LBOs, and liquidity situations. The portfolio currently includes over 110 live financings to mid-market companies across Europe. This role supports the Portfolio Monitoring team within the European Mid-Market Private Debt investment team, partnering closely with investment, investor relations, funds' cash management, risk, legal, compliance, and COO teams.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting deal teams in drafting upsizes and amendment requests for portfolio situations with recommendations to the Investment Committee, including cash flow modelling
- Maintaining monthly and quarterly financial management, monitoring portfolio company metrics, and reporting to the team
- Assisting with financial due diligence and other portfolio-related initiatives
- Preparing and contributing to monthly and quarterly portfolio reviews for Investment Committee and Risk teams
- Monitoring receipt of information, compliance certificates, and borrower obligations
- Owning and maintaining the investment database ensuring consistency and integrity
- Monitoring portfolio and fund statistics and contributing to investor reporting metrics
- Contributing to weekly pipeline updates and team capacity tracking
- Providing asset information for quarterly valuation exercises and external credit rating processes
- Liaising with industry market report producers to disclose BlackRock European private credit track record and league tables
- Supporting management and reporting of leverage facilities and continuation vehicles

Experience
2-3 years of investment or modelling experience in leveraged finance, M&A, restructuring, private debt, or direct lending.
Excellent analytical and data analysis skills with high attention to detail.
Experience working independently and as part of a motivated team.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to present ideas clearly and constructively.
Ability to prioritise and work to tight deadlines with flexibility.
Methodical thinker with problem-solving capabilities.
Fluent in English; additional European language skills are a plus.
