About the Role
At Amazon, every day is day one – a chance to take the first step, embrace new challenges, and bring ideas to life. As a Process Improvement Specialist, you will lead and develop Customer Delivery Excellence across Amazon's European middle-mile operations, including Sort Centres, cross-docks, and inbound cross-dock nodes. Working in a cross-functional environment with Operations, Analytics, Transportation, and Supply Chain stakeholders, you will scale proven performance management mechanisms from Fulfilment Centres across the middle mile.

You will establish a structured daily performance management cadence, providing clear visibility of key metrics that drive on-time, reliable, and cost-efficient delivery. Your focus will include driving container fill rate improvements to reduce wasted transport capacity and unnecessary costs. You will define and monitor relevant metrics, connect them to shop-floor processes, and identify opportunities for performance improvement with corrective and preventive actions.

This role involves in-depth data analysis, project development, and presenting initiatives to senior regional management, with potential to scale globally. Strong communication and influencing skills, process understanding, and analytical expertise are essential. You will work to Amazon's highest standards to increase customer satisfaction by delivering fast, reliable, world-class service.

Key responsibilities include:
- Establishing and leading a structured daily performance management cadence across middle-mile nodes
- Driving container fill rate improvements to reduce under-utilised trucks and volume left on site
- Acting as an ambassador and enabler for front-line teams to detect problems early, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions
- Defining, monitoring, and connecting delivery metrics to shop-floor processes
- Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders across Operations, Central Flow, Supply Chain, Transportation, Commercial Carrier teams, and ICQA
- Implementing new processes and methodologies to build local capability for sustained improvements
- Developing assessments and reports to understand business impact and support decision-making
- Delivering reporting and analysis using tools, portals, Excel, SQL, and other data management systems
- Traveling up to 30% to support site roll-outs and stakeholder engagement

The Global Operational Excellence (GOX) team is part of the EU STEP organisation and drives operational excellence across Amazon's fulfilment network. This role extends proven Fulfilment Centre mechanisms across the middle mile, working with diverse teams focused on delivering products to customers faster than ever before.
