About the Role
We are seeking ambitious, outstanding candidates to join our support staff at United Colleges Group, a forward-thinking education provider committed to delivering outstanding, world-class education and skills.
United Colleges Group educates over 11,000 learners annually, including 16–18-year-olds, adults, apprentices, and students with high needs across five campuses and two colleges: City of Westminster College and College of North West London. The Cockpit Theatre also forms part of the Group.
With an annual turnover exceeding £50 million, we are one of the top 20 largest college groups in the UK, offering education and training in almost all vocational areas at various levels for learners of all ages and starting points.
The Progress Coach role involves supporting curriculum colleagues, including English and maths teams, by following up on student attendance and maximising retention and achievement. You will contact students to improve attendance, identify barriers, and implement necessary support.
Responsibilities include recording all correspondence on agreed college databases, being proficient with IT systems including Microsoft Teams, participating in team meetings, providing regular updates on student caseloads, and liaising with teaching staff to ensure students with less than 85% attendance are followed up with action plans.
You will also collaborate with wider student support teams to work as a ‘team around the student’ to maximise attendance and success on their courses.
Experience
Experience working with young people is essential. Candidates should be relatable, empathetic, and able to motivate and coach students towards success.
About you
You should be self-sufficient, able to use initiative when necessary, follow directions accurately, and provide feedback to managers without constant supervision.
Qualifications
Specific qualifications are not detailed, but a commitment to supporting learners and a proactive attitude are required.
