About the Role
AWS Infrastructure Services is responsible for the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure, ensuring continuous cloud availability for customers worldwide. As a Project Controls Manager, you will lead critical infrastructure projects in operational data centers, providing data-driven insight, forecasting, and governance to support effective decision-making across complex capital projects in a fast-paced environment. You will collaborate with diverse teams including software, hardware, network engineers, supply chain specialists, and operations managers to deliver the highest standards of safety, security, and cost efficiency.
Your responsibilities will include developing high-level operational plans specifying scope, schedule, resource, and budget requirements extending 12-18 months, standardizing processes and reporting for portfolio performance, designing enhanced cost and labor estimating mechanisms, managing goals in safety, quality, productivity, vendor performance, and cost control, and driving portfolio and program improvements through stakeholder engagement. You will also plan and host value stream mapping events to optimize processes and apply change, risk, and resource management to adapt to evolving organizational demands.
This role requires a self-starter comfortable with ambiguity, who enjoys new challenges, is vocally self-critical, and naturally curious. You will take ownership and influence positive change by leveraging analytical data to drive quality, productivity, and cost improvements while supporting the strategic direction of organizational goals.
Experience
- Proven track record of planning and monitoring project performance to achieve scope, schedule, cost, and resource objectives
- Experience carrying new design concepts through exploration, development, and deployment or mass production
- Experience in MS Excel, Word, and Windows Operating Systems
- Experience in project management within data centers or comparable critical infrastructure environments preferred
- Knowledge of critical data center equipment, engineering documentation, electrical diagrams, and standard operating procedures preferred
- Familiarity with building codes and regulations including Life Safety, BOCA, NFPA, NEC, or OSHA preferred
- Experience in Data Center Engineering Operations with a deep understanding of electrical and mechanical infrastructure preferred
- Ability to read and interpret construction specifications and drawings across multiple domains preferred
