About the Role
Laing O'Rourke are recruiting a Project Engineer (Site Agent) to join our Letchmore Heath substation project. This role involves utilising Digital Engineering models to create Visual Method Statements and Visual Task Sheets, and confidently sharing this knowledge with team members. You will fully implement and ensure compliance with the Laing O'Rourke Management of Temporary Works procedure on projects, explaining these procedures to others as required. The role requires determining the most appropriate methods of dimensional control, taking advice from specialists where necessary, and ensuring setting out data is accurately controlled. You will interrogate and transfer setting out data from 3D CAD models, define the scope and format of as-built surveys and reports to demonstrate compliance, and produce or ensure production of Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) that fully address specification and contractual obligations. Adherence to project and company quality procedures is essential. The role also includes utilising and recommending best engineering methods, applying design process knowledge, producing and approving method statements and risk assessments, managing procurement, and leading a team of engineers.

Experience
Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or an industry-recognised technical or engineering qualification (e.g. HNC, HND, NVQ level 4) with demonstrable experience in a construction delivery environment. Experience working on large-scale building or infrastructure projects is essential. Temporary Works experience is also required.

You are confident in using digital engineering tools and able to communicate procedures effectively to team members. You have strong organisational skills to manage setting out data and surveys, and you are committed to quality and compliance. Leadership skills are important as you will manage a team of engineers and oversee procurement activities.

Qualifications
A degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent technical qualification as stated above is required. Additional certifications related to Temporary Works and construction management would be advantageous.
