About the Role
Help shape the future of Britain's railway by joining Rail Delivery Group (RDG), a key partner to Britain’s train operators dedicated to delivering essential services that keep the nation’s railway running efficiently. RDG plays a crucial role at every stage of the customer journey, from journey information and reservations to improving performance, safety, and accessibility. As RDG transitions into Great British Railways (GBR), this 12-month fixed-term Project Manager role will support the delivery of that transition alongside a PMO team comprising a Senior Programme Manager and a Senior Project Manager.

The post holder will provide project management support across multiple workstreams, driving delivery while managing plans, dependencies, risks, and issues. This role is critical for maintaining delivery momentum, supporting stakeholder engagement at workstream level, and contributing to the integrated cross-workstream plan managed by the PMO. Operating within a multi-organisational environment, you will work closely with sector partners and stakeholders to ensure successful programme delivery.

Project management at RDG balances driving delivery with inspiring leadership, forging strong working relationships across project teams, operational teams, and stakeholders. You will deliver projects to time, scope, and budget, managing risks and dependencies effectively using project management tools and excellent interpersonal skills.

Typical responsibilities include:
- Developing detailed project plans with milestones and deadlines
- Identifying risks and developing mitigation strategies
- Establishing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders
- Ensuring work is completed to the right standard and adapting to project needs
- Leading and motivating project teams
- Coordinating multiple workstreams and teams
- Monitoring project progress against time and budget
- Measuring project performance and reporting progress
- Managing changes to the project as necessary
- Ensuring delivery of project outcomes and benefits
- Working within the RDG Project Delivery Framework

About you
You are motivated by meaningful work and thrive in a collaborative environment. You have excellent communication and leadership skills, are adaptable to changing project needs, and can build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.
