About the Role
We are seeking a Project Manager to join our team, working closely with the studio team and clients to manage the day-to-day delivery of multiple projects. You will ensure projects stay on brief, on time, and on budget while maintaining clear communication and strong client relationships. Your responsibilities will include shaping and maintaining project scopes and schedules, managing feedback and changes, coordinating resources and production schedules, managing project budgets, and supporting Directors with proposals and project documentation. This role requires collaboration across the design team and coordination with suppliers and specialist partners as needed.

About Us
A Practice for Everyday Life is a creative direction, design, and type studio founded in 2003. We collaborate with cultural institutions, global brands, and individuals to create meaningful, original design through research and consultancy. Our work spans brand identities, campaigns, digital, editorial design, and custom type.

Working at APFEL
We offer flexible daily working hours around core hours, bi-monthly off-site cultural outings, regular studio socials including private gallery and museum events, catered monthly team lunches, increased holiday allowance after 3 years, studio closure between Christmas and New Year, and a workplace pension scheme.

Requirements

Experience
At least 4 years’ experience managing projects within a design, branding, or creative studio, or equivalent. Proven ability to manage multiple creative projects simultaneously, balancing schedules, resourcing, and feedback.

About You
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with confidence in managing clients and building strong relationships. Highly organised and proactive with strong time-management skills and the ability to manage changing priorities across projects. Able to anticipate risks and resourcing issues, solve day-to-day problems independently, and know when to escalate issues. Collaborative and sensitive to the way creative teams work. Strong interest in contemporary design, typography, art, and culture.

Qualifications
Confident user of Excel and/or Google Sheets, project-management tools, and time-management systems. Good understanding of creative production processes across print, digital, and web.
