Location
Based between Canary Wharf, London and South Mimms, Hertfordshire.
Hours
37 hours (net) per week for full time staff, pro rata for part-time staff.
Salary
£37,456 - £42,064 per annum plus benefits.
About the Role
The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) enhances and improves the health of millions of people every day through the effective regulation of medicines and medical devices, underpinned by science and research. The agency employs approximately 1600 staff across three main centres and peripatetically across the UK and abroad. This role sits within the Scientific Research and Innovation (SR&I) Group, which delivers public health impact, world-leading research innovation, and a unique regulatory proposition for patients and users via an ambitious agency strategy and strategic science plan balancing innovation with sustainability and affordability.
The SR&I Group is structured into Innovation & Compliance and Science & Research functions, covering areas such as Innovation Accelerator, Clinical Investigations, Standards & Compliance, Research and Development, Control Testing, and Health & Safety.
This pivotal, high-impact role supports the Chief Medical & Scientific Officer (CMSO) and two SR&I Directors, ensuring strong operational coordination across the Group. The post holder will manage diaries, action tracking, and the smooth flow of work for the CMSO's office, support Directors and Deputy Directors in defining objectives, deliverables, risk registers, and milestone monitoring to ensure outputs are delivered and benefits realised.
The role demands a highly organised professional who thrives on variety and complexity, brings sound judgement, and excellent attention to detail. There is also scope to support the wider Agency Support team during peak demand periods.
Experience
- Proven ability to align activities with wider organisational priorities and deliver timely, quality outcomes.
- Experience working in a paperless environment using standard office software such as spreadsheets, documents, and online notebooks.
- Project management experience across multiple concurrent projects involving complex and technical matters.
- Excellent organisational, time management, and prioritisation skills with the ability to multi-task and balance competing priorities.
- Experience communicating clearly and adapting style to different audiences and stakeholders.

Qualifications
- Degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline such as pharmacy, science, medical engineering, medical physics, biomaterials, healthcare professional qualification, or equivalent relevant work experience.
