About the Role
Join the Commercial Team at London and Quadrant Housing Trust (L&Q) as a Project Quantity Surveyor. You will be responsible for the financial and contractual administration of projects, ensuring all quantity surveying duties are performed to the highest standard. This role involves full ownership of projects and work streams to ensure all costs and contracts are in place, supporting operational colleagues and managing subcontractors and suppliers to achieve best value while protecting the business contractually. You will provide accurate financial forecasting and be accountable for savings on projects. Reporting to the Managing Quantity Surveyor, you may have up to three direct reports.
Your impact will include providing mitigation strategies for contract matters, managing budgetary constraints with forensic cost control techniques, demonstrating strong analytical and data interrogation skills, managing principal and subcontractor arrangements, handling poor performance confidently, understanding cost value reconciliation, and applying commercial awareness with good legal and contractual knowledge. Competency in standard methods of measurement and NHF Schedule of Rates (SoR) is expected.

Experience
Extensive quantity surveying experience with proven ability to manage projects, subcontractors, and suppliers. Experience in managing principal and subcontractor arrangements and applying forensic cost control techniques is essential.

Confident in managing poor performance and supporting operational colleagues. Strong analytical skills with high numeracy and data interrogation capabilities. Commercially aware with good legal and contractual knowledge. Able to take ownership of projects and work streams, delivering best value and accurate financial forecasting.
Qualifications
Degree or HNC level qualification in a related discipline or equivalent substantial experience. Professional membership of CIOB or RICS is desirable but not essential.
