£57,094 to £63,032 per annum (London weighted salary) or £49,502 to £55,106 per annum (Regional salary), dependant on experience plus £1,300 essential car user allowance
About the Role
Join the Commercial Team at London and Quadrant Housing Trust (L&Q) as a Project Quantity Surveyor. There are two vacancies available: one within the Compliance workstream (London based only) focusing on building compliance activities across fire safety, gas, electrical, water hygiene, asbestos, lifts and statutory inspections; and one within the Manchester Reactive Repairs workstream (Manchester or London based) supporting North West operations with occasional travel between locations.
As a Project Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for the financial and contractual management of works delivered by L&Q, ensuring all quantity surveying activities meet the highest professional standards. Your role will focus on securing and maximising L&Q's contractual and commercial entitlement, providing robust cost control, accurate financial reporting, and effective contract administration. You will also identify and deliver cost savings across projects to support business objectives and value-for-money outcomes.
You will manage up to 3 direct reports and report to the Managing Quantity Surveyor. Key responsibilities include full ownership of projects and workstreams, managing subcontractors and suppliers to achieve best value while protecting the business contractually, providing accurate financial forecasting, supporting operational colleagues, and contributing to continuous commercial process improvement and annual commercial strategies.

Experience
Extensive quantity surveying experience with strong analytical and data interrogation skills. Experience managing principal and subcontractor arrangements and confident in managing poor performance both internally and externally. Proven ability to manage budgetary constraints using forensic cost control techniques and good understanding of cost value reconciliation for a workstream.
About you
Commercially aware with good legal and contractual knowledge. Confident in supporting operational colleagues and ensuring all significant project issues and contractual processes are observed. Able to provide mitigation strategies for contract and subcontract matters. Strong leadership skills to manage up to 3 direct reports.
Qualifications
Degree or HNC level in a related discipline or equivalent substantial experience. Professional membership of CIOB or RICS is desirable but not essential.
