About the Role
Amazon's Legal Department is seeking a talented commercial real estate lawyer to join the AWS legal team supporting Amazon Web Services (AWS), a rapidly growing business within Amazon.com. AWS leads the cloud computing industry by providing IT infrastructure services such as on-demand compute capacity, storage, content delivery, and database services. In this role, you will support AWS's global data center expansion through land acquisitions, leases, zoning entitlement work, and service licenses. Your responsibilities will include drafting and negotiating a wide range of real estate transactional documents, providing legal counsel and contract interpretation to business teams, managing outside counsel, and advising internal clients. You will also help develop and implement process improvements, resolve legal issues in existing commercial relationships, and handle pre-litigation disputes and inquiries. This fast-paced role requires sound judgment, creativity in problem-solving, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while collaborating closely with colleagues across legal and business teams to drive AWS's continued growth.

Experience
- Minimum 3+ years post-qualification legal experience in Real Estate Law
- Experience drafting and negotiating a variety of real estate transactional documents including leases, lease amendments, purchase and sale agreements, easements, development agreements, and co-ownership agreements

- Experience working in both corporate law firm and in-house environments is preferred
