About the Role
This role is available for qualified nurses only with nursing home experience. As a Registered Nurse at Maria Mallaband Care Group, you will be empowered to deliver exceptional care and make a real difference in the lives of our residents. You will be responsible for planning daily activities, creating tailored care plans, and ensuring individual needs and choices are met with dignity and respect. Your leadership will support colleagues and promote a safe, compassionate environment for those living with us.

Key responsibilities include:
- Medication administration and care planning
- Providing physical, emotional, and spiritual support to residents
- Maintaining safeguarding principles
- Taking responsibility as Nurse in charge during shifts
- Team management and shift planning
- Infection prevention and control
- Liaising with General Practitioners and Multi-Disciplinary Teams
- Upholding clinical governance standards

Essential skills include strong clinical decision-making, leadership, and care planning abilities. Experience with syringe driver, catheterisation, blood sampling, PEG feeding, and stoma care is required. A good understanding of the Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty safeguards is also essential.

Appletree Court Care Home, where this role is based, is a purpose-built facility offering elderly residential, nursing, and dementia care. The home provides a warm, community atmosphere with spacious rooms, en suite facilities, fine home cooking, and a variety of activities and day trips to enhance residents' wellbeing.

Experience
Previous nursing home experience is essential. Experience with syringe driver, catheterisation, blood sampling, PEG feeding, and stoma care is required.

Qualifications
- Nursing qualification recognised by the UK NMC
- Valid UK NMC PIN and registration to practice as Registered General Nurse (RGN), Learning & Disability Nurse (RNLD), or Mental Health Nurse (RMN)
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as assisting residents with mobility
- Understanding of the Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty safeguards
