About the Role
The Rehabilitation Physiotherapist will support the delivery of high-quality rehabilitation services to Surrey Cricket Club Senior and Academy players, focusing on the assessment, planning and delivery of evidence-based rehabilitation programmes following injury or surgery. Working closely with the wider Science & Medicine (S&M) team, the postholder will optimise player recovery, minimise time-loss from injury and support safe, effective return to training and competition. Under the guidance of the Lead Physiotherapist and alongside the S&M and coaching teams, this role provides a player-centred approach integrating physiotherapy, physical preparation and performance principles to maximise player availability and long-term athletic development. Responsibilities include delivering comprehensive assessment, clinical diagnosis and rehabilitation of injuries; designing and progressing individualised rehabilitation programmes from acute phase to return-to-performance; leading on-field rehabilitation and return-to-running programmes; collaborating with Strength & Conditioning staff to align rehabilitation with physical development; supporting return-to-train and return-to-play decisions; monitoring rehabilitation progression using objective outcome measures and clinical reasoning; providing treatment and manual therapy where indicated; supporting injury prevention, movement screening and player profiling; providing physiotherapy cover for training sessions and fixtures; liaising with consultants and external healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care; maintaining accurate and confidential medical records in line with club, ECB and HCPC standards; completing injury management documentation and database entries timely and accurately; operating within clinical governance, safeguarding and medical governance frameworks; contributing to audits, service development and evidence-based practice; and undertaking continuing professional development to maintain current knowledge of rehabilitation, return-to-play and sports medicine best practice.
Experience
- Experience working with adolescent or pathway athletes
- Experience within a sporting environment is desirable
- Experience working within Academy or talent pathway environments is desirable

- Full Driving License is a mandatory requirement
Qualifications
- BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy or equivalent
- Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists (CSP)
- Current advanced trauma management and emergency care accreditation, or ability to complete this in the near future if successful
