About the Role
As a Research Analyst at The NHS Alliance, you will contribute to building a high quality evidence base for the organisation by applying both quantitative and qualitative research methods. You will support proactive and reactive research and analysis projects across multiple policy areas, collaborating with colleagues across the strategic policy directorate, networks, communications, and commercial teams. Your work will include delivering high quality desk-based research and analytical outputs that underpin policy briefings, media enquiries, and external publications, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and professional presentation.
You will build and analyse member research, including surveys, to deepen understanding of the challenges facing members and the NHS, accurately reflecting member views and maintaining up-to-date, reliable member information. Monitoring and analysing NHS performance and health datasets will be a key part of your role, including tracking activity, targets, quality, and patient experience metrics, identifying trends, and providing timely insights.
Maintaining data quality in central spreadsheets and dashboards is essential, alongside implementing robust data cleaning and validation processes. You will use high-quality data visualisations such as graphs, infographics, and dashboards to effectively communicate findings. Applying project management practices, you will set milestones, engage stakeholders, and present findings clearly to both internal and external audiences.
Managing your own workload, you will contribute effectively to the team by delivering agreed research tasks on time, building strong relationships across the directorate, and developing your skills in diverse research methods and analytical tools.

Experience in quantitative and qualitative research methods is essential. Proven ability to deliver high quality research and analysis outputs, manage data quality, and produce clear, accurate reports and visualisations is required. Experience working within policy or health-related environments is advantageous.
About you

You have strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines. You communicate complex information clearly and professionally to diverse audiences. A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous learning is important.
