About the Role
The Scientist will support the drug development team by leveraging technical expertise in analytical chemistry to aid the discovery and characterization of novel drug candidates and their clinical formulations. Under the guidance of the Research Director, key responsibilities include executing and optimising assays to characterise peptides and peptide formulations, developing novel assays to address future bioanalysis needs, and creating quality control testing and characterisation assays. The role also involves providing general wet lab support for in-vitro scientists, collaborating with Discovery and CMC Teams on immediate peptide characterisation needs, maintaining accurate experimental records, analysing large datasets, and generating research reports. Additional duties may include undertaking necessary training and supporting the smooth operation of the laboratory, including cleaning and maintenance tasks.

Requirements

Experience
- MSc degree with further experience or PhD degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related Life Sciences, or equivalent academic and/or industrial experience
- Wet lab experience in a molecular biology lab (industry or academia) with a peptide or protein research background
- Experience executing and developing analytical methods and assays to characterise peptides or proteins
- Familiarity with biological molecule characterisation techniques such as LC (RP/SEC-HPLC), DLS / SLS
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced laboratory environment
