We have an exciting opportunity to join our Investment Consulting department as a Research Consultant (Real Assets). Our Investment Consulting practice is widely recognised for delivering rigorous, independent advice. We partner with a broad range of clients from pension schemes and central banks to charities and insurers helping them achieve their investment goals. At the heart of what we do is in-depth fund-manager research and analysis, giving clients the insight they need to select the right managers and maximise long-term returns.

As a Research Consultant, you will drive research into real-asset strategies and their managers. Your key responsibilities include:
- Researching Real Assets investment products offered by investment managers
- Providing clear, well-justified recommendations on the suitability of fund management products for use by our clients
- Identifying emerging trends and market opportunities in the real estate and infrastructure sectors and assessing their potential impact on client portfolios and investment strategies
- Collaborating closely with client-facing teams, analysts, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment of research efforts with overall client aims
- Maintaining strong relationships with industry experts, peers, and other external sources to gather valuable market intelligence and stay ahead of industry trends
- Producing high-quality research reports, whitepapers, and other thought leadership materials to enhance the firm's market presence and credibility
- Researching approaches and providers of services (e.g. brokers, platforms) to sell funds on the secondary market
- Researching other ways for investors to raise liquidity from their illiquid assets
- Conducting investment manager research and formulating views on investment managers’ capabilities across assigned asset classes
- Attending regular in-person research meetings and internal discussions
- Identifying funds and managers that require researching
- Leading or contributing to research meetings with managers through planning, interviewing, analysis, and proposing recommendations
- Producing high quality written and presentational materials to communicate views to client-facing consultants and clients
- Supporting clients on the appropriate design of Real Assets strategies that meet their investment objectives
- Conducting operational due diligence reviews on fund management companies in line with LCP’s processes
- Conducting reviews of fund documentation
- Ensuring recommendations on managers’ products are justified with well-documented data and logical, consistent arguments
- Reviewing work done by others, including detailed checks and overall reasonableness assessments

Requirements

Experience
- Several years of Real Assets experience in a manager research or asset management role at an investment consultancy, wealth manager, family office, fund-of-funds or in-house asset-owner
- Experience and knowledge of Real Assets and investment strategies
- Experience in assessing environmental and social impacts of real estate and infrastructure investments, including metrics and techniques used

About you
- Excellent presentation and communication skills, including the ability to present persuasively and debate your views
- Strong time management and delegation skills to manage variable and sometimes high workloads
- Good Excel, data-processing and project management skills

Qualifications
- Professional qualification in investment, finance or surveying (preferable)
