The University of Roehampton is recruiting to the role of Research Ethics and Governance Officer to join our Research Office team. This is a pivotal role in upholding the highest standards of research ethics within our institution and the opportunity to support a positive research culture at a research-intensive university.
This role is ideal for someone who have previously worked in research governance/research ethics-type roles or those who have an interest in increasing their knowledge and skill within different areas of research integrity, ethics and governance. The successful candidate will have excellent organisational and communication skills and be able to prioritise conflicting demands and meet deadlines while maintaining high standards.
Key responsibilities will include:
1. Play a key role in supporting the implementation of best practice administrative processes related to research integrity, governance, and ethics.
2. Support the delivery of research ethics application process of research projects and activities across the institution, ensuring all approvals are made in line with our Code of Good Research Practice and Research Integrity.
3. Act as the first point of contact for queries on ethics applications, support our academics and students through the ethics review process, and work closely with the Research Integrity and Ethics Chair to administer and service the Research Integrity and Ethics Committee.
4. Support the Research Excellence Manager in administering data-driven responsibilities, providing agile and timely support for reporting of key research information, and ensure high quality data capture in information systems and logs.
