About the Role
This is an opportunity to join the Individual Giving team at The Royal British Legion as a Retention Officer, with two roles available within the Retention function. These posts are central to how we engage and retain supporters, bringing greater consistency, structure and impact to supporter journeys. You will play a key part in delivering communications that keep supporters connected beyond their first gift, ensuring activity is well planned, well timed and aligned to wider fundraising work across the organisation.
Working closely with managers, senior colleagues, data teams and agency partners, you will help turn audience insight into clear, effective and well-executed fundraising activity. This role focuses on building and delivering structured supporter journeys rather than standalone campaigns, using data, performance insight and testing to continuously improve communications.
You will be responsible for supporting planning, briefing and delivery, ensuring activity is properly coordinated, well understood across stakeholders, and continuously improved based on results. This role suits someone highly organised, comfortable working at pace, and confident managing multiple moving parts across different teams. Clear communication, keeping delivery on track, and working within defined processes while identifying opportunities for improvement are essential.
Fundraising is at the heart of The Royal British Legion's 10-year strategy, with investment in people, skills and ideas to drive growth and strengthen support for the Armed Forces community. As one of the UK's most trusted and recognisable charities, this is an exciting time to join a collaborative, forward-thinking team shaping the future of fundraising and impact.
Employee benefits include 28 days' paid holiday (plus bank holidays) increasing with service, optional annual leave purchase scheme, enhanced paid maternity, paternity and adoption leave, generous pension contributions (6% to 10%), flexible working options depending on role, Employee Assistance Programme, learning and development courses, volunteering opportunities, travel loans, Cycle to Work scheme and more.
