About the Role
The Risk Oversight Associate, part of the Controls Oversight team within the Risk Directorate, plays a key role in ensuring effective risk control activities are completed in line with risk management frameworks, including the controls and policy frameworks. Responsibilities include managing documentation, leading triage of risk system notifications, coordinating communications and meetings, liaising with external assurance partners, and overseeing risk control attestation returns. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate with colleagues at all levels, including senior leadership, and requires strong accountability, resilience, and experience in reporting and communication. You will support the smooth running of team operations, ensuring alignment, compliance, and effective risk challenge across the organisation. The role provides valuable experience in risk and assurance within a supportive and flexible working environment.

Directorate Overview
The Risk Directorate includes the Risk Oversight, Technical Risk and Data Protection, and Regulatory Risk teams. As a second line function, it provides advice, challenge, and support on risk. The Risk Oversight team is responsible for the development, implementation, and maintenance of the risk management and controls framework, and oversight of key risks and controls. This role sits within the Controls Oversight team but supports all three teams with administrative tasks.

Experience
- Supporting risk oversight objectives and maintaining controls within the controls library and Risk & Compliance system
- Applying risk control attestation to enable assurance planning
- Supporting ad hoc projects within the Risk Oversight team
- Collaborating with colleagues across all organisational levels, including senior leadership
- Working with Second Line functions and producing outputs for Executive Risk Committee, Risk Committee, Audit Committee, and the Board
