About the Role
We have a fantastic permanent opportunity for a Safety & Compliance Officer within our Building Safety Team at Sovereign Network Group (SNG). SNG is a newly formed organisation following the merger of Sovereign and Network Homes, providing over 84,000 homes and investing in communities across London and the South of England. Our purpose is to provide good affordable homes in thriving communities that people love for generations.
The role supports the Safety and Compliance Specialist - Fire/Senior Safety and Compliance Officer - Fire and the wider Building Safety Compliance team on all fire safety matters on behalf of SNG. You will support the delivery of the Fire Risk Assessment (FRA) programme, managing internal and external delivery partners and other specialists. You will ensure all remedial activities are identified, recorded, actioned, and closed in line with SNG's internal policies and regulatory requirements.
Key responsibilities include delivering the right outcomes for customers safely and timely, promoting a positive collaborative culture of building safety compliance, escalating concerns appropriately, acting as a subject matter expert in building safety and compliance, defining data requirements, policies and standards, reviewing building fire strategies and designs to ensure regulatory compliance, and ensuring actions from fire risk assessments and recommended upgrades are progressed and recorded.
Experience
- Proven experience working to deadlines and achieving targets both independently and through team collaboration
- Demonstrable knowledge and experience of fire safety subject matters within the Housing Sector
- Up-to-date knowledge of fire safety legislation

Qualifications
- Level 3 or Level 4 qualification in Fire Safety
- FRA qualification such as IFE or CS Todd with experience in peer review/auditing of Fire Risk Assessments
- Membership of the IFE, IFSM, or equivalent professional body with demonstrable Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
