About the Role
Reporting to the Machine Shop Shift Manager, the Section Leader is responsible for ensuring production targets are met cost-effectively while maintaining delivery performance at all times. You will identify and eliminate inefficient processes and ensure resources are optimally utilised so that machines and processes run smoothly. This role requires effective daily management of staff to maximise productivity and efficiency, as well as managing all quality-related issues through robust corrective actions. You will investigate process non-conformance bookings and raise corrective action reports where appropriate. Ensuring adherence to machine shop discipline procedures and providing technical guidance and support to staff are key responsibilities. You will also collaborate with engineering and machine shop teams to resolve manufacturing problems and maintain a safe working environment by adhering to Health and Safety regulations.

Experience
- Relevant City and Guilds / HNC qualification (or equivalent), or an apprenticeship served in manufacturing or engineering
- Strong manufacturing and engineering expertise
- Thorough knowledge of CNC machining
- Strong computer literacy including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
About you
You are a highly motivated and driven individual with the confidence to make decisions in a high-pressure manufacturing environment. You possess excellent problem-solving skills, a strong technical background, and the ability to manage multiple issues simultaneously. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
Qualifications
- Relevant City and Guilds / HNC qualification or equivalent, or completed apprenticeship in manufacturing or engineering
Desirable
- Expertise in managing people and manufacturing resources
- Appreciation of production planning principles
- Working knowledge of the Syteline ERP system
