About the Role
The Charity Commission regulates around 180,000 charities across England and Wales, ensuring they operate within a legal framework and building public confidence that the £30bn donated each year is used effectively. Our ambition is to be an expert regulator that is fair, balanced, and independent so that charity can thrive.
The Communications & Policy Directorate leads the organisation’s efforts to engage with charity trustees, the public, and stakeholders to support those running charities, helping the sector deliver positive outcomes and build public trust.
As Sector Engagement Officer, you will design and establish a new set of sub-sector engagement panels to facilitate direct dialogue with a wider range of charities. These panels will meet routinely to share insights on sector challenges and opportunities, informing the Commission’s policy development and engagement with the sector and UK Government.
You will also propose and support ad-hoc roundtables and meetings on topical issues, contribute to a proactive stakeholder engagement programme including meetings and visits, and occasionally travel to Commission offices and other venues across England and Wales.
You will be comfortable briefing senior officials both verbally and in writing, and rapidly analysing policy topics to understand their relevance to the Commission’s role and remit.
