About the Role
As a Senior Administrator, you will provide essential senior administrative support across the Tower Hamlets practices, working closely with doctors, clinicians, managers, and other team members. You will collaborate with the Practice Manager and Reception Supervisor/Manager to ensure the smooth running of the practice and deliver a high-quality service to registered patients. Your responsibilities will include managing enquiries professionally, overseeing e-referrals from locums, maintaining accurate records, and supporting clinical and administrative teams with various operational tasks.

You will be responsible for preparing medical reports, monitoring referrals, liaising with external organisations, and ensuring timely production of letters and reports. Supporting recruitment, complaint investigations, clinical rota preparation, and health and safety inspections will also be part of your role. You will lead on quality services such as DES, NIS, QOF, and ensure all targets are monitored and met.

Additionally, you will provide administrative support for meetings, manage policy and pathway documentation updates, oversee the admin team’s workload, and assist with appraisal and training needs. You will also support IT issue reporting and contribute to CQC preparation and compliance.

This role requires a high level of confidentiality, adherence to data protection regulations, and commitment to health and safety and equality and diversity principles. You will play a key role in maintaining quality standards and effective communication within the team and with patients.

Requirements

Experience
Proven experience in senior administrative roles within a healthcare or similar environment is highly desirable. Experience managing teams, handling complex administrative tasks, and supporting clinical services is essential.

Qualifications
Relevant administrative or healthcare qualifications are advantageous but not essential. A willingness to engage in ongoing training and development is important. Knowledge of clinical systems such as EMIS and familiarity with NHS policies and procedures will be beneficial.
