About the Role
As a Senior Analytics Engineer at Zoopla, you will be a key member of the Data Analytics team, owning and developing the data modelling infrastructure, architecture, and pipelines that power a wide range of data initiatives and products. You will manage the analytics engineering workflow and architecture for the core data modelling layer, ensuring successful orchestration and troubleshooting pipeline errors. Acting as a liaison between technical and non-technical stakeholders, you will translate business needs into engineering requirements and deliver well-defined, transformed, tested, documented, and code-reviewed data sets. Your work will enable business users to self-serve, analyze, and build products with reliable and consistent data. You will proactively seek automation and optimisation opportunities to improve the transformation layer and unify its usage across multiple teams. Additionally, you will train and support colleagues in dbt and data modelling best practices, applying software engineering principles such as version control, automated testing, and continuous integration. Experience
- Proven experience setting up and developing dbt architecture using CI/CD practices (essential)
- Highly proficient in SQL and data modelling best practices for optimising performance (essential)
- Experience working with visualisation tools such as Tableau or PowerBI (essential)
- Skilled in collaborating and communicating effectively with non-technical stakeholders (essential)
- Experience integrating dbt with other tools in the modern data stack (essential)
- Comfortable harnessing AI workflows to expedite scalable and sustainable development (essential)
- Experience with Databricks and AWS services (Glue, Lambda, Step Functions) or similar cloud platforms (desirable)
