About the Role
Future Publishing is a global leader in specialist media, delivering expert content and technology that build valuable communities across multiple platforms. The Circulation IT team supports Marketforce, the UK’s No 1 newsstand distributor, by managing bespoke integrated systems that underpin business processes and strategic goals.

We are seeking a highly autonomous and delivery-focused Senior Business Analyst on a 12-month fixed-term contract. You will be the sole BA responsible for high-priority software development roadmap projects, taking full end-to-end ownership of the analysis and requirements lifecycle. Reporting to the Project Manager, you will drive requirements engineering, solution validation, and feature delivery independently.

Key responsibilities include:
- Acting as the dedicated BA for assigned software projects, managing requirements from discovery through deployment
- Eliciting, analysing, and translating complex business rules and user needs into clear requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria
- Creating and maintaining Functional Requirements Specifications, feature documentation, technical specifications, and process workflows
- Planning and leading workshops with engineering teams, SMEs, and business stakeholders
- Leading unit testing validation and managing the full User Acceptance Testing lifecycle, including test scenario creation, defect triaging, and securing stakeholder sign-off
- Leading stakeholder management and coordination across all project phases
- Partnering with Project Managers to align projects with delivery goals, supporting senior communications, and maintaining project trackers
- Contributing to sprint and project planning, roadmap sequencing, and backlog grooming
- Managing project governance, including risks, issues, assumptions, dependencies, and timelines

Experience
- Proven experience as a Business Analyst within Software Development lifecycles (SDLC)
- Demonstrated ability to work independently as the sole BA on complex software projects
- Strong stakeholder coordination skills, including leading meetings, driving consensus, and managing expectations
- Expert proficiency in requirements elicitation, process modelling, user story mapping, and writing functional specifications
- Hands-on experience with test scenario creation, unit testing validation, and managing complex UAT phases
- Practical experience with project management frameworks such as Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall
- Experience in project governance, risk management, and structured project planning
- Experience developing user manuals, training materials, release notes, and supporting business readiness for software rollouts
