Hours
The Senior Care Navigator will participate in a 4 week rolling rota which includes earlies, days, evenings, weekends, bank holidays and occasional night shifts.

£29,626 per annum
About the Role
Provide a smooth running comprehensive administrative service for the Care Navigators and Clinical staff supporting the Integrated Urgent Primary Care Services. Organise and supervise non-clinical staff to ensure effective resource management. Manage problem situations including technical, administrative, staffing issues and patient or carer complaints. Liaise with clinical staff to ensure smooth service delivery and with the Service Manager and on-call manager to highlight issues and support service improvement.
Hold line management responsibility for Care Navigators including induction, training, one-to-one meetings and appraisals. Be fully conversant with computer systems used by the service (Adastra, Cerner, EMIS web), maintain databases, run reports and train staff.
Support the Integrated Primary Care Service and Single Point of Access to meet Key Performance targets without compromising patient care quality. Guide patients appropriately when referral to healthcare professionals is not required, signposting to other services including PALS, social care, community and voluntary sectors, pharmacies and independent providers.
Provide evidence-based healthcare advice, maximising opportunities for health education and promotion. Oversee clinic environment ensuring supplies are maintained and clinic rooms comply with health and safety and infection control standards.
Participate in training relevant to service needs and actively contribute to team meetings and service delivery.
Experience
Proven experience in administrative and supervisory roles within healthcare or similar settings is essential. Experience with line management, training and staff development is required. Familiarity with healthcare IT systems such as Adastra, Cerner and EMIS web is necessary.

Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with patients, carers, voluntary, social, primary and secondary care providers. Sound knowledge of local health and social care policies and service availability. Ability to maintain accurate records and handle safeguarding issues sensitively. Resilient and reflective practitioner able to manage challenging situations professionally. Commitment to confidentiality, legal and ethical standards of the NHS. Ability to respond appropriately in emergencies and report health and safety incidents.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage resources and clinic environments effectively. Willingness to assist in training colleagues and participate in ongoing professional development.
Qualifications
Relevant qualifications or experience in healthcare administration or management preferred. Training will be provided to support the role and service requirements.
