About the Role
The Senior Clinical Coder plays a vital role within Barts Health NHS Trust, ensuring accurate and timely clinical coding of patient records to support clinical audit, research, and financial management. This position requires a detailed understanding of clinical terminology and coding standards, contributing to the delivery of high-quality data that underpins patient care and hospital funding. You will work closely with clinical teams and other departments to maintain coding accuracy and compliance with NHS guidelines. The role involves leadership responsibilities, supporting junior coders, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within the coding team.
Experience
- Proven experience in clinical coding within an NHS or healthcare setting
- Strong knowledge of ICD-10, OPCS-4 and NHS coding standards
- Experience in leading or supervising coding teams is desirable

Qualifications
