We are seeking four experienced Lawyers to join our highly regarded Commercial team in Legal Services on a fixed-term basis.
This is an exciting opportunity to work on a varied and challenging caseload across the full breadth of residential and commercial property matters, supporting the delivery of key Council priorities and projects.
You will provide high-quality legal advice and support on a wide range of transactions and projects, including:
- Residential and commercial acquisitions and disposals
- Land and property regeneration schemes
- Development and strategic property projects
- New leases, lease renewals and licences
- Easements and rights affecting land
- Right to Buy transactions
- Section 42 Lease Extensions
- General landlord and tenant matters
- Property-related advice to Council departments and stakeholders
Working as part of a supportive and collaborative legal team, you will manage your own caseload while also assisting senior colleagues on complex, high-profile and strategically important matters.

Experience
Qualified Solicitors, Barristers or Chartered Legal Executives, or equivalent, with substantial experience in property law.
Excellent technical knowledge of residential and commercial property law and practice.
Significant experience handling a broad range of property transactions and matters.
Experience of providing clear, practical and solution-focused legal advice.
Experience gained within a local authority legal team would be advantageous, although applications from candidates with relevant private practice or public sector experience are welcomed.
