About the Role
We’re looking for an experienced communications and engagement all-rounder to join our corporate communications team. As London’s largest borough, we have a lot going on and many things our residents, businesses, and partners need to know - this role is about doing just that.

From elections to regeneration, engagement to consultation, you’ll be skilled in creating content for a range of communications channels, from socials to print, and confident in media relations. You’ll have experience tailoring your communications to reach diverse communities and be ready to suggest new ways to make an impact.

Reporting to the External Communications and Engagement Manager, you’ll work closely with colleagues across the organisation leading on planning, delivering, and evaluating communications that support our corporate priorities. We’re looking for someone experienced in campaigns and marketing, ready to work with our communities to encourage involvement.

Internally, you’ll collaborate with colleagues at all levels, from frontline officers to senior leaders and politicians. Additionally, you’ll build and maintain strong links with a wide range of partners, including community groups, contractors, and other London boroughs.

Croydon Council is committed to balancing its books, listening to residents, and delivering good sustainable services. Our priorities include financial sustainability, respectful partnership with diverse communities and businesses, strengthening collaboration with partner organisations and the voluntary, community and faith sectors, embedding good governance, and developing our workforce to deliver in a manner that respects community diversity.

Key business plan outcomes include making Croydon a place of opportunity for business, earning and learning; ensuring children and young people have the chance to thrive; creating a cleaner, safer, and healthier borough; and supporting people to lead healthier and independent lives for longer.

We support flexible and hybrid working arrangements and are an inclusive employer welcoming applications from all sections of the community.
