About the Role
This senior role provides strategic communications leadership to the Global Disability Innovation Hub (GDI Hub), with a strong focus on web and digital media. The post holder will support GDI Hub’s next decade of growth by owning and developing its expansive web and digital portfolios. Working closely with the Director of Global Engagement and the communications team, the role aims to elevate the organisation’s public-facing touch points through expert website ownership, content development, and strategic leadership of the communications function.
Having evolved from a start-up to a medium-sized organisation over the past 10 years, GDI Hub requires this role to define the future direction of its web presence and communications strategy. The successful candidate will bring deep technical knowledge of website management and development to strategically enhance GDI Hub’s online portfolio, building engagement, increasing impact, and supporting storytelling.
Key responsibilities include developing client-facing digital assets that showcase GDI Hub’s brand, products, and impact to external audiences such as funders, partners, and media. The role involves managing content, platform oversight, and shaping the longer-term digital vision. A strong emphasis will be placed on editing and curating compelling narratives that highlight the breadth and depth of GDI Hub’s work.
As part of a small, proactive, and ambitious team, this position demands a strong output focus. The Senior Communications Manager will also take on line management responsibilities for two communications team members, requiring proven management experience and a track record of leading fast-paced communications and content teams with responsibility for project and programme delivery.
The role requires balancing priorities, managing incoming requests, and ensuring the communications function operates in a streamlined and strategic manner. The post holder will lead strategic thinking to align GDI Hub’s web and digital platforms, presenting a collective voice and dynamic vision of the organisation.
