As Senior Copyright Manager, Music Publishing, you will take full ownership of copyright data integrity across Moonbug’s extensive music catalogue, ensuring a clean and uninterrupted flow of income from global collection sources. You will lead and develop the Copyright team, act as the senior escalation point for administrators and global PROs, and set the operational standards for the function. This is a senior, hands-on leadership role requiring structure, consistency, and accountability in a fast-scaling copyright operation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own standards and quality for copyright data integrity across core systems, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery of the Coordinator team’s work.
- Provide technical leadership and act as escalation point for complex copyright registration and data issues.
- Stay ahead of emerging industry standards and recommend proactive adoption.
- Set and enforce clean-data standards for new catalogue and client onboarding.
- Ensure accurate and timely registration of newly onboarded works at global collection societies.
- Define metadata standards and close match-rate and identifier gaps.
- Resolve copyright data conflicts and disputes within clear turnaround targets.
- Champion automation and batch-based registration to reduce manual errors.
- Identify and implement process efficiencies including AI-assisted tools.
- Oversee ongoing enrichment of the legacy catalogue.
- Manage cue sheet creation and delivery with a focus on automation and reliability.
- Lead and develop the Copyright team with clear priorities and accountability.
- Partner with the wider Publishing team to ensure tools and processes are secure and scalable.
- Manage stakeholder expectations and escalate risks proactively.

Experience
- Significant prior experience in music publishing copyright administration, including people management.
- Deep working knowledge of copyright management.
- Proven experience navigating complex, multi-territory contracts and rights structures.
- Experience liaising with global PROs/CMOs, including both major and less commonly covered societies.
- Experience with copyright management software and databases.
- Track record of building scalable, systemised processes and holding teams accountable.
- Strong Excel skills and comfort managing large, complex datasets.
- Comfortable using AI tools to improve workflow efficiency.
- Strong people leadership and stakeholder management skills with confidence in direct performance and priority conversations.

Qualifications
Relevant qualifications or equivalent experience in music publishing or copyright management are preferred but not mandatory. A commitment to continuous learning and adapting to industry changes is essential.
