Senior Counsel Global Supply Chain Transactions, Disputes & External Manufacturing

London HQ or any UK GSK strategic manufacturing site. Secondary locations include Belgium (Wavre) or any EU GSK strategic manufacturing site.
Hours
Full Time - Hybrid working model with onsite presence typically 2-3 days per week.
Salary
EUR 114,750 to EUR 191,250 annual gross base salary (Belgium range shown as example). This role may also offer an annual bonus and eligibility for a share-based long term incentive program, dependent on role level and performance. Salary ranges vary by location and candidate experience.
About the Role
As Senior Counsel, Global Supply Chain (Supply Chain Transactions, Disputes and External Manufacturing), you will provide expert legal support across GSK’s pharma and vaccines business focusing on supply chain aspects of business development transactions, managing disputes with Contract Manufacturing Organizations (CMOs) and strategic partners, and acting as a trusted business partner for the External Manufacturing organization. Your responsibilities include contract negotiation with CMOs, supporting the Third-Party Sales team, managing disputes and issues, and providing comprehensive legal advice on manufacturing and supply agreements and other transaction documents.
You will work closely with the Legal Contracting Network (LCN), the Disputes Resolution & Prevention (DRP) team, and the Global Supply Chain team to deliver strategic legal solutions. The role requires strategic-level thinking, sound judgment, strong collaboration and influencing skills with senior stakeholders, and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic, matrix environment.
Key responsibilities include advising senior business leaders and legal colleagues on complex legal issues related to external manufacturing contracts, dispute resolution, and supply chain business development transactions; navigating complexity to deliver optimal solutions in contracts negotiation and litigation; providing efficient support to Supply Chain Business Development and External Manufacturing teams; monitoring external environment impacts and suggesting organizational preparedness improvements; and partnering with senior lawyers to implement best practices across legal and business functions.
This role reports to the Assistant General Counsel, Global Supply Chain, is at Director level, and involves 20%-30% business travel.
Experience
- Proven ability to work on complex projects independently and with minimal supervision.
- Experience advising on supply chain aspects of business development transactions and external manufacturing contracts.
- Skilled in managing disputes with third parties, including drafting settlement agreements and claims.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively at leadership and governance levels.
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical manufacturing regulations and compliance is preferred.
- Experience in contract negotiation and litigation.
- Proficiency in relevant technology systems and data management tools.

Qualifications
- Substantial post-qualification experience preferred.
- Knowledge of GSK’s medicines and vaccines pipeline and company priorities is advantageous.
