About the Role
The Senior Criminal Investigator, Unregistered Social Care will lead and manage a team of Criminal Investigators and Assistant Criminal Investigators to conduct and complete criminal investigations into unregistered social care. You will support the National Director, Deputy Directors, and Regional Directors, and be responsible for developing and implementing Ofsted's approach to conducting criminal investigations.

We are seeking an experienced senior criminal investigator with a broad range of investigatory skills who can bring fresh ideas and valuable insights to the Unregistered Social Care team. You will need to be flexible, confident, and show initiative from the outset. Additionally, you must be able to quickly familiarise yourself with the legislation underpinning criminal investigations into unregistered social care services.

Requirements

Experience
- Significant, proven experience of supervising serious and complex investigations, including ensuring compliance with legislation and guidance, supervising case progression and case files.
- Proven experience of successfully managing teams of criminal investigators, including mentoring and developing staff.
- Experience providing advice to investigators to effectively identify, prioritise and pursue all relevant lines of enquiry to deliver operational objectives.
- Demonstrated impact of leadership on colleagues and investigations.
- Experience in operational decision making, managing risk, and resource management.

Flexible, confident, and proactive with the ability to quickly understand relevant legislation. You should be able to lead a team effectively while bringing innovative ideas and insights to the role.
