About the Role
The Senior Features and Lifestyle Page Editor is responsible for repurposing digital content for the print editions of The Daily Telegraph and Sunday Telegraph, with a particular focus on the Features and Lifestyle section. In this fast-paced role, you will ensure pages are published and subbed to the highest quality and on deadline, supported by design and picture resources. You will exercise excellent editorial judgment, time management, and communication skills, with the ability to make quick decisions and craft sharp headlines. A keen eye for pictures and detail is essential, alongside a proven track record of delivering high-quality newspaper pages to daily deadlines.

Key responsibilities include working as part of the print production team to select and present the best of the Telegraph’s digital content in print, assisting in editing and curating the Features and Lifestyle sections, managing and editing pages to deadline, fitting and repurposing copy originally subbed for the web, and rewriting headlines when appropriate. You will brief and collaborate with page designers to present features and comment in the best way for print, adapting visuals from digital or developing new ones. The role requires working quickly to meet print deadlines, proofreading pages, and maintaining flexibility to assist other sections when needed.

Requirements

Experience
Proven experience of editing and production at a national newspaper. Demonstrated ability to work efficiently, make the best use of resources, and collaborate effectively with colleagues. A strong track record of accuracy, attention to detail, and imagination in writing headlines and page display. Understanding of what makes a good picture and superior command of language and its correct usage. Experience translating multimedia digital stories and images into engaging print articles. High standard of copy-editing, proofing, subbing, and production skills. Strong news sense and editorial judgment.
