About the Role
National Savings and Investments (NS&I) is one of the largest savings organisations in the UK, with over 24 million customers and more than £240 billion invested. As both a government department and an Executive Agency of the Chancellor of the Exchequer, NS&I has a rich history dating back to 1861. We offer a supportive working environment with flexible working options, a 9-day fortnight scheme, a performance-related variable pay bonus, a generous pension scheme, and excellent development opportunities.
NS&I is currently undergoing a complex Business Transformation Programme (BTP), and the Senior Finance Business Partner role is critical to embedding a strong financial management culture within this programme. The post holder will advise the BTP Senior Responsible Officer and Programme Director on the current and future financial position of the programme, including forecast assumptions, financial risks, and opportunities. This involves scrutinising and challenging financial forecasts through detailed analysis of assumptions, historic data, and risks, providing insightful commentary to explain variances from budget and prior forecasts.
The role acts as the first point of contact for Programme finance queries and works closely with the Programme Accountant, Commercial Finance team, and PMO Forecasting Lead to ensure robust financial and cost controls and a consistent forecasting approach.
