About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join the EMEA Accounting team at Amazon's London office. This key role supports the controllership and accounting functions across multiple legal entities within EMEA operations. You will be responsible for reporting financial results to the business and driving process improvements aligned with global objectives. The role involves ownership of monthly, quarterly, and annual closes, ensuring robust review and escalation mechanisms with finance partners and management. You will lead cross-border projects, develop best practices in accounting and controllership on an international scale, and focus on leveraging new technology to enhance processes. Additionally, you will collaborate with the global financial leadership team to create and implement policies. This position requires strong communication skills to represent the EMEA Accounting team and engage with senior management on key financial statement areas. You will also support internal and external audit processes and ensure alignment with the Worldwide Accounting Organization.

Requirements

Experience
- Experience in tax, finance, or a related analytical field
- Proven ability to apply key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses
- Experience creating process improvements through automation and analysis
- Skilled in identifying, leading, and executing improvements to finance or business tools and processes
- Advanced proficiency in SQL for data mining and business intelligence
- Accounting management experience in a Big Four firm with Fortune 500 clients
- Certified accountant qualification (CPA, ACCA, or equivalent)

Qualifications
- Certified accountant qualification (CPA, ACCA, or equivalent)
