Salary
£57,946 to £73,205 per annum. The maximum salary for the grade is £68,205, with a Digital Allowance of up to £5,000 per annum available for exceptional candidates. The Digital Allowance is non-salary, non-pensionable, and temporary, subject to annual review.

About the Role
As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer, you will lead the Asset Management Engineering Team within the Intelligent Service Performance group, focusing on Enterprise Tooling. You will be responsible for the design, delivery, and onboarding of the current Flexera FlexNet Management Suite (FNMS) installation and the transition to the Flexera One SaaS platform. Your role will ensure the operational stability, robustness, and resilience of the Flexera platform and related solutions.

You will design, deploy, support, and continuously improve enterprise monitoring and asset management solutions that underpin critical citizen-facing services. This includes leading the implementation and maintenance of agent-based data collection infrastructure across Windows, Linux, cloud, and containerised environments such as AKS and EKS.

You will manage hybrid infrastructure estates, deploying and maintaining cloud-hosted solutions using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and platform management tools. Providing technical leadership and subject matter expertise for the Flexera Asset Management platform and wider tooling portfolio, you will ensure services remain secure, resilient, and high performing.

Collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, service owners, and engineering teams will be key to ensuring monitoring systems accurately capture and report key service and application metrics. You will drive engineering best practices, provide guidance and assurance to teams, and act as the technical escalation point for live service incidents, operating in line with ITIL Incident, Problem, and Change Management processes.

Additionally, you will lead and develop engineers, supporting capability growth while ensuring the operational stability, performance, and continuous improvement of the department's infrastructure tooling services.

Requirements

Experience
- Proven track record designing and delivering infrastructure services and solutions within a hybrid server estate including multiple operating systems such as Microsoft Windows Server, various Unix/Linux distributions, and containerised platforms.
- Significant experience providing specialist technical support to projects, ensuring delivery of non-functional requirements aligned with architectural and roadmap developments.
- Demonstrable experience managing, supporting, and mentoring team members and consumers to deliver high-quality outcomes that meet customer needs and provide value for money.
- Extensive experience using multiple scripting languages across different operating systems, including agent deployment via Infrastructure as Code techniques.
- Proven ability to communicate effectively across support, engineering, business users, architecture, and suppliers.
- Significant experience designing, implementing, and managing a hybrid On Premise and Public Cloud agent-based collection architecture, including agent rollout to multiple technologies and Infrastructure as Code deployment techniques.

About You
You are a technically skilled and motivated individual with strong stakeholder management skills. You are able to lead a small team and collaborate effectively across multiple disciplines. You are committed to continuous improvement, operational stability, and delivering resilient, secure, and high-performing infrastructure solutions.

Qualifications
Asset Management skills are advantageous but not essential as training in the Flexera product suite will be provided. Essential is demonstrable experience in deploying agent-based collection architectures and Infrastructure as Code deployment methods.
