About the Role
As we enter an exciting new phase of digital maturity, Breast Cancer Now is seeking a Senior Lead in AI to drive innovation and embed impactful, transparent, and ethical AI use across the charity. This unique opportunity combines technical expertise with leadership to design AI-powered products that make a real difference—whether enabling life-saving research, supporting fundraising innovation, or connecting with people affected by breast cancer in new and meaningful ways. You will play a pivotal role in embedding inclusive and responsible AI practices, ensuring innovation is sustainable across the organisation. Additionally, you will raise AI literacy at every level, from colleagues to the CEO and trustees, through workshops, training, and innovation sessions.
You will lead the AI product strategy and roadmap, aligning with digital and organisational goals through cross-team collaboration to identify opportunities where AI can deliver impact across fundraising, services, research, and operations. You will stay ahead of AI trends, build prototypes, work with partners, and guide the transition from pilot projects to long-term solutions.
If you are excited by the chance to combine technical leadership, product strategy, and social impact, this role offers a rewarding challenge at the forefront of AI innovation in the charity sector.
Experience
Proven experience leading AI or machine learning product development with a strong technical foundation, including working with large language models, vector databases, data pipelines, and digital integrations. Experience with innovation pipelines, hackathons, or AI literacy programmes is a plus.
About you
A collaborative leader with excellent communication skills, able to translate complex AI concepts for both technical and non-technical audiences. You bring curiosity, adaptability, and a passion for making a meaningful impact through ethical and inclusive technology.
